Tonsure in the cloister.
Three novices took the monastic vows in the Cathedral of St. John the Theologian in our monastery after the Vespers before the Paraklesis on the 25th of August 2015. The three brethren were named after St. Athanasius the Great, St. Gregory Palamas and St. Nicodemus of the Holy Mountain. This event brought together the brethren of the cloister and these great Saints in a special way.
With the prayers of St. Athanasius the Great, St. Gregory Palamas and St. Nicodemus of the Holy Mountain may the Lord strengthen the newly-tonsured monks and have mercy on us.
With the prayers of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian may God have mercy on all of us!
