And such cases of recoveries took place again and again and became numerous. In response to the message of Fr. Vitaly His Eminence Aleksy Archbishop of Ryazan ordered to write down the most remarkable cases and to declare them after half a year. Thanks to it, numerous documentary proved wonderful recoveries with the help of the water from the Holy Spring were left to us. Here, for example, a declaration of an engine driver of Ryazan railway Ivan Trofimov. One reads his story with pain and joy at the same time. He describes the illness of his wife in detail. The sickness was so serious that the doctor advised to call for a priest to make the sick prepared for the last way. But when earthy doctors can’t help, people come to the Heavenly Healer of souls and bodies. And when the priest was about to read the last prayer for the soul passing away? Her son of eleven Mitya cried “No! Don’t read! With whom shall we stay?! Let me go to St. John the Theologian Monastery with somebody. I will bring some water from the Holy Spring, we will give it to mummy to drink and she will remain alive. When I studied in the monastery school I saw the sick who were carried by people. They were bathed in the Spring and now all of them are safe and sound.

thumb_ist10The faith and the grief of the boy were so deep, that the grown-up obeyed. And so the sick woman, who was in fever, unconscious, who had not eaten and drunk for a long time, drank three glasses of water which had been brought from the Holy Spring. Suddenly she fell asleep very soundly, became wet with sweat. In the morning she regained consciousness, felt herself, began to weep and cross herself at the icons. A day later she already poured tea herself. She learnt her story from her relatives and made a vow to herself to visit St. John the Theologian Monastery and to thank Mother of God and St. John the Theologian for the recovery. She fulfilled it on the 29th of May 1874.
