The Day of Commemoration of St. Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian.

On the21st of May our cloister joyfully celebrated the Day of commemoration of its Saint Patron – St. Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian. The day before His Eminence Dionysius Bishop of Kasimov and Sasovo headed the All-Night Vigil.

The solemn divine service was celebrated by a council of priests. Pastors from distant and near parishes of our eparchy came to glorify the memory of St. Apostle John.

Peaceful joy and warm love to God filled the hearts of numerous pilgrims, who had come a long way to the dear cloister to commemorate the Holy Apostle together with the brethren and ask him for his constant help and intercession with Christ Our Lord.

Saint John was the one who lay on the breast of Christ at Last Supper, who stood at the Cross during the Sufferings of the Savior and the one who was adopted by the Theotokos according to the will of Christ.

On the following day at 5⁴⁵ early Divine Liturgy was served in the cathedral of St. John the Theologian and then a cross procession went to the Holy Spring where a moleben with consecration of water was served.

At 8⁴⁵our cloister solemnly met His Eminence Paul Metropolitan of Ryazan and Mikhailov, who together with His Eminence Dionysius Bishop of Kasimov and Sasovo headed the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Assumption, which was beautifully decorated and filled with a great number of people praying.
