On the 6th of December 2006 Archimandrite Abel (Seraphim in schema) (Makedonov) fell asleep in the Lord after a short but serious illness.

(He took vows of schema with the name Seraphim in honor of St. Venerable Seraphim of Sarov by Vladyko Dimitrios (Gradusov) in his early years because of a serious heart disease).

He was an assiduous and wise father, a fervent servant of the altar about whom one can better say with the words of the Holy Scripture: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith...” (2 Tim. IV, 7)
